How to get brand deals on Instagram in India (2026 guide)
A practical guide for Indian creators: what brands look for, how to be found, how to pitch, what to charge and how to turn one collab into the next. Works from a few thousand followers.
Brand deals don’t go to the biggest accounts. They go to creators a brand can trust to reach the right people and deliver on time. The good news: you can build all of that on purpose, and you don’t need a huge following to start.
What brands actually look for
- A clear niche and audience. “Skincare for oily skin in humid cities” beats “lifestyle”. Brands buy an audience, not a follower count.
- Steady reach. Your average reel views matter more than followers. A creator with 15K followers and 8K views a reel is often worth more than one with 80K and 3K.
- Real engagement. Comments that sound human, saves and shares. Brands check.
- Proof you deliver. Past collabs, results, and reviews from brands.
- Easy to book. Clear packages, prices and dates. Every extra email is a chance for the brand to pick someone else.
1. Make yourself easy to find
Put one link in your bio that answers a brand’s first five questions: who you are, who follows you, what you offer, what it costs and how to book. A booking page does this better than a PDF media kit, because the numbers are live.
Then be where brands search: list yourself in creator directories (Miracle’s creator directory is free and sorted by niche and city), turn on Instagram’s creator marketplace in your professional dashboard, and use your niche and city in your bio and captions, because that’s what brands type into search.
2. Pitch, don’t wait
Most first deals come from a pitch, not an inbound DM. Pick brands you already use or that sell to your audience, find a real business email, and send a short, specific note: why you, one content idea, your link. Five good pitches a week will beat fifty copy-pasted DMs. Our pitching guide has templates.
Miracle’s pitch autopilot finds up to 10 fitting brands a day, finds their public business email and writes the pitch; you approve each one, or let it run.
3. Price with confidence
Know your number before the brand asks. Start from your average views, adjust for engagement and niche, and charge extra when the brand wants to run your content as ads (usage rights) or wants you to avoid competitors (exclusivity). The rate guide and free calculator walk through it.
4. Read every offer before you say yes
- What exactly is being made, and how many rounds of changes?
- Can the brand run it as an ad, and for how long?
- Are you blocked from working with competitors? For how long?
- When will you be paid, and is it after the post or after an invoice?
- Is it barter? Then is the product’s value fair for the work? See barter vs paid.
5. Deliver like a pro
Confirm dates in writing, share drafts before posting, label the post as an ad as ASCI requires, post on time, and send results a week later. That last step is the one most creators skip, and it’s the one that gets you booked again.
6. Turn one deal into the next
- Send a short results report: views, reach, saves, shares, and what people said.
- Ask for a review or a testimonial you can show.
- Offer a follow-up idea or a monthly package while the campaign is fresh.
- Add the collab to your page as past work.
How long does it take?
Creators who pitch every week and keep their page current usually land a first paid deal within a few weeks to a couple of months, often starting with barter or small fees. Consistency matters more than any single trick.
Questions
How many followers do you need for brand deals in India?
There’s no fixed number. Brands book nano creators (1K–10K followers) for niche, trusted audiences; what matters is a clear niche, steady views and easy booking.
Do brands pay creators with under 10K followers?
Yes, often with products at first (barter), then fees as you show results. Small local brands and D2C startups are the best place to start.
Should I join an influencer agency?
Agencies can bring deals but usually take 15–30% of each one. Many creators get deals directly with a good page and regular pitching.
