A starting rate for an Instagram reel, carousel, post or story, worked out from your own views, followers, engagement and niche. The formula is shown underneath, so you can see why.
Views, not followers
Brands pay for people who will see the post. Your average reel views say that better than your follower count, so they drive the rate. Without them we assume a reel reaches about 30% of your followers.
A rate per 1,000 views
Smaller accounts earn more for every 1,000 views because their audience trusts them more and the brief is the same work. The rate per 1,000 views falls as views grow (the table below).
Then the extras
Engagement above or below 3% moves the rate up or down a little. Niches brands spend more on pay more. Usage rights and exclusivity are charged on top, because they cost you other deals.
The numbers we use
Rate for every 1,000 reel views, before engagement and niche. These are our working benchmarks for Indian creators, not a survey: change them in your head to match what brands have paid you.

Carousels are about 75% of a reel, a single post 55%, one story 30% and a set of three stories 60%. Usage rights add 30% for 30 days, 60% for 90 days and 100% for six months or more. Exclusivity adds 20% for 30 days and 40% for 90 days. The smallest rate shown is ₹1,500, because every collab is at least a few hours of work.
GST: if you are registered, add 18% on top of the rate for the brand.
